Vinod Kambli could have done much more on the cricket field, but he didn't. Now this batsman-turned-actor is set to debut in Kannada with a film titled Bettanagere. Akshay, of Silk fame, and Sumanth Shailendra, who is currently riding high with Dilwala's success, will be playing the lead roles. Bettanagere produced by B N Swamy will go on floors on October 31. The film will be directed by Mohan Gowda B G Bettanagere, who has also written the story, screenplay and the dialogues.
Not much has been revealed about the cricketer's role in the film but we hear he has an important character to play. Facing the camera is not new to Vinod as he started off with small screen in a serial called Miss India.
