Model-turned-actress Kavya Shetty started her career with the Kannada film I am in Love, followed by Preetham Gubbi’s Nam Duniya Nam Style. Her debut in Tamil was with Shivani and in Telugu, with Natadu. She recently finished shooting for the Tamil film Avam and is currently working on Vijayaditya in Kannada, opposite Dhananjay.

The director who has been associated with stars like Vikram, Vijay, Arya and Anushka Shetty will, for the first time, work with Vikram Prabhu of Kumki and Arima Nambi fame. It is said that he stumbled upon Kavya when he was looking for a fresh talent.

Speaking about the opportunity, Kavya says, “The film is a fun-filled, romantic drama that deals with relationships and the problems that come with them. It is set against a college backdrop and I play Vikram Prabhu’s love interest. There is a love triangle in the film and I will also be sharing screen space with another Malayalam actor. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer and G V Prakash will score the music for this yet-to-be-titled film.”

Kavya is elated and feels bagging an A L Vijay film is a big ticket for her in Kollywood. However, she adds, “I am getting more good roles in Tamil and Telugu than in Kannada. But I have not lost hope. I look forward to doing good films in Sandalwood too.”
