Puneeth Lends His Voice to Three Actors in Rudratandava

Though Puneeth Rajkumar had only two releases this year, he kept himself busy as a singer. The star’s voice was in demand for a number of films across all genres. He has sung songs in hit films like Adhyaksha, Bahaddur, Tirupathi Express, Krishna Leela and Aryan among others. He also lent his voice for the soundtrack of his own film,  Power ***.

The latest addition to this rapidly growing list is the film Rudratandava directed by Guru Deshpande and starring Chiranjeevi Sarja, Radhika Kumaraswamy, Krishna and Chikkanna.

Guru says, “Apart from the uniqueness we all find in Puneeth’s voice, I chose him because my song starts with a story which says... Ondu ooralli obba huduga edda. Avanu middle class madam endhe bidda. It is a different song and I needed a popular voice to establish this which was not that of a regular singer. That’s when we chose Puneeth,” says Guru.

It is interesting to note that only Puneeth’s voice has been considered as a playback option for all the three actors who appear in the song. “This is a youthful song picturised on actors Chiranjeevi Sarja, Krishna and Chikkanna. The first half of the song sees Krishna and Chikkanna describing the negative aspects of falling in love. While the second part of the song continues with Chiranjeevi praising the positive sides of being in love.”

Most of the songs sung by Puneeth have been listed on the top charts of 2014. “I am very confident that this song will also be a trendsetter of 2015,” he says.
