Parul Yadav is on a career high after bagging Yogaraj Bhat’s upcoming project Vaastu Prakara. The actress is replacing Nikita Thukral in the film. She is happy that the project has come to her around her birthday that falls on June 5. “Everybody wants to work with Yogaraj Bhat and I am glad that he chose me for his movie. I play the role of a lawyer who is also a feminist. This role is very important in the film. I will be joining the team in Switzerland from June 14,” she says.
The actress is aware that she is a replacement, but she is not curious to dig into the reason. “It has happened to me in the film Bachchan, where I replaced Deepa Sannidhi. I didn’t know then and I don’t want to know now why the actors left the projects. I am glad that in spite of my not being a Kannadiga, Yogaraj sir believes that I can do justice to this role. What is special about the director is that he does off-beat subjects while keeping the commercial element. This being Yogaraj sir’s direction in Switzerland, we have to be on our toes constantly. Everything is at our disposal when we shoot here, but it is not the case when we shoot outside the country. We have to deliver our best within the limited time,” she says.
This apart, Parul has signed three projects in Kannada, which she reveals are with big directors and big heroes. Not throwing much light on the projects, she only tells us about the genres. “Yogaraj sir’s is a satire film, after which I will be part of a crime thriller, followed by a psychological film. Then there is a romantic-horror flick. The details of each film will be announced officially as and when they get launched,” says Parul.
At home, Parul has been fighting a tough battle, as her mother has been diagnosed with cancer. “The past two months have been disturbing for me. I was going through a lot of mental ups and downs with my mother’s illness. Thankfully, she is recovering now and has been put on radiation for a month. In spite of her illness, she has been very supportive of my career. This has helped me look only at the brighter side of life,” she says.
