Actresses in Sandalwood wait for an opportunity to work with big stars and generally accept their projects without second thoughts. But Rachita Ram has opted out of Puneeth Rajkumar’s Dheera Rana Vikrama directed by Pavan Wadeyar, because she did not hear from the crew long after she was selected for the project.
As per reports, it was producer Jayanna who selected Rachita for the film and the actress was thrilled when she was offered the part. Later, there were rumours about her being removed from the project, but Jayanna denied them. But something seems to have changed since then.
“Who wouldn’t be happy to get an offer from a big production house and an opportunity to work with an actor like Puneeth Rajkumar? Somewhere, things did not fall in place for this film. I only knew that I was selected and was part of the team, but till today, I have not received a single call from the team of Dheera Rana Vikrama."
She continues, "Meanwhile, there have been rumours about my being in and out of the project. I used to wait in patience hoping that somebody would call me to talk about my role. In fact, I could not take up any other projects because I didn’t know how my schedule would go. I didn’t know what to make of this silence and so I decided to quit on my own,” says Rachita, who doesn’t wish to blame anybody for her exit.
“I guess Dheera... was not for me because I didn’t get a positive feeling about the movie or the team. I would not like to blame anybody for this as it was my own decision. Now I am free to look out for a good project,” she adds.
Jayanna and Pavan Wadeyar were unavailable for comment, as they are currently shooting near Hampi.
