Bahaddhur to Take on the Biggies

Film Bahaddhur is celebrating the Platinum Disc milestone  as its songs have created a record sales of 1 lakh audio CDs in 18 days. The music, which was released by D Beats and scored by director V Harikrishna, also has 1.5 lakh digital downloads.

According to director Chetan Kumar, the songs are a hit because they have a different mix of music that also gels with the lyrics. We have fusion, hip hop and folk elements in the songs.

Chetan wants to bring in the festive celebrations with Bahaddhur and is gearing up for release while they wait for the Censor Board to certify the film. "The Censor Board has again delayed watching our film because the Regional Censor Officer has been put on election duty in Maharashtra for the upcoming Assembly elections there. They are around nine films in line and I have got a letter from each filmmaker to push my film first for the certificate. The Censor Board has assured me that they will watch the film in a couple of days. As of now a few directors like A P Arjun, Harsha, Santhu have watched the movie and have given a thumbs up. I hope the audience like it. We are hopeful to release the film during Dasara, maybe on October 2," he says.

If the film is released on October 2, Bahaddhur will be competing with some huge films releasing around the same time. "Bang Bang, a `200 crore budget movie starring Hrithik Roshan is releasing on the same day. We have a Telugu film Govindudu Andarivadele of Ramcharan Teja also releasing around the same time. This apart we have our own Kannada film Simhadri starring Duniya Vijay. I am hopeful that my film will have its audience. The movie starring Dhruv Sarja and Radhika Pandit becomes more special because it is releasing in 7.1 dts, which is the first in Kannada film industry. Also this is the last film in Kannada done with 80 per cent of negatives. There is a lot of positive vibe and we hope to carry it till the release and after," he says.

The platinum function was a star studded event with R S Productions inviting Shivarajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Dhruv Sarja, Chetan, director A P Arjun, A Harsha, Rajendra Singh Babu, H D Gangaraju, Bharath Sarja, Yogaraj Bhatt and other celebrities.

Films to be certified

Regional Censor Officer Nagendra Swamy is back from election duty on September 29 and he will work on the certification for a weak before he goes back on election duty. Apart from Bahaddhur, the other films which need to be certified are Jaggesh starrer Software Ganda, Arjun Sarja’s Abhimanyu, Fair & Lovely and Abhinetri.
