Run Antony will be Vinay's Second Outing

The actor is associating with a debutant director, Raghu Shastri, who has previously worked under B-Town director Anurag Kashyap

Vinay Rajkumar, after going through around 30 scripts with his father Raghavendra Rajkumar, has finally chosen Run Antony as his next film.

It will be directed by debutant Raghu Shastri under their own production house, Vajreshwari Combines.

After his debut Siddhartha, the young actor is careful about his every move, which is why R… The King with director Prem got shelved, and he took his time to choose the next.

Raghavendra Rajkumar says they are yet to finalise the official launch date of the film. “Manikanth Kadri will be the music director. We are looking for new talents who can give the process of filmmaking a new flavour. In fact, we have given the director a free hand to choose young technicians, who will be finalised in a day or two,” he added.

The shooting will start in November-end or in December, while the release is slated for April.

It was Vinay who finalised the project as he thought it was an apt subject for him. “He liked the script and told me to talk to the director (Raghu Shastri) and go through the script, which was interesting. Vinay wants to be part of a subject that blends both art and mass elements. This script is perfect that way. Even the title will get people talking,”  he says.

To Vinay’s advantage, Raghu Shastri has worked under Bollywood  director Anurag Kashyap and according to the actor’s father, the debutant was more than happy to start in Kannada and to be associated with the Rajkumar home banner.

“He told me that he was a looking for a good tree that could give shade, and today he is glad that he has found a huge canopy. He expressed happiness to work under our banner and that will help him take off in Sandalwood.”

He feels that everyone can relate to the subject. “What I also understood is that in an approach like this, all characters are treated equally. The hero and heroine are not put up on a pedestal. Rather, all the characters are like the members of a cricket team. I am happy to get educated by newcomers,” he says.

Though the initial plan was to launch on November 23, it stands postponed and will officially be launched when they are prepared to shoot.

“Vinay doesn’t want any hype before it goes on floors.  He feels that we should have some content to talk about the film. All this will be announced when the rest of the star cast and technicians are finalised,” he says.
