Prem’s next directorial The Villain, produced by CR Manohar, is all set to be launched on August 12.
Interestingly there is a lot of talk around the film. And the latest buzz of the Shivarajkumar-and-Sudeep starrer is that the makers have approached South Indian and Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia to play the female lead in the trilingual project made in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil.
Apparently, Tamannaah has shown an interest in being part of the film, if the project does not clash with her present commitments.
Though Tamannaah has worked in Tamil and Telugu industries, this film will mark her entry into Kannada. There have been other filmmakers who have tried to interest her in Kannada movies earlier but failed. Prem has succeeded in bringing B-Town actresses to Sandalwood, and we hope, he succeeds in bringing Tamannaah too.
The actress who has completed shooting for Dharma Durai with Vijay Sethupathi is purportedly busy with Baahubali: The Conclusion. She has also committed to a trilingual horror thriller (Telugu-Tamil-Hindi) Abhinetri and a Tamil film Kaththi Sandai co-starring Vishal. As reported, her next in Hindi will be with Rohit Shetty and she will be seen opposite to Ranveer Singh.
As for The Villain, the film will have four major characters including the two stars, the heroine and a mother’s role. For the last, they are scouting for someone like Bollywood diva Rekha or South-Indian beauty Shobana.
Meanwhile, Shivarajkumar is currently busy with a couple of projects - Srikanta, Bangara Son of Bangarada Manusha directed by Yogi G Raj and will start Leader, helmed by Sahana Murthy.
As for Sudeep’s schedule, he is currently shooting for Hebbuli, and will only be free by October. In between, during August, the actor will get back to anchoring his reality show Bigg Boss and participate in a cricket tournament. More importantly, his current hair style will not permit him to shoot for any other film.
We hear that this movie will need Sudeep to play a character with two shades, and therefore will require a different get up.
“The film that has four leads also sees 12 other important characters, and the makers are in the process of finalising the latter. They are now working on the schedule to bring in all of them together. More so, some major portions of the film will be shot abroad and everything now depends on the star’s dates,” our source tells us.
The director and the producer of The Villain refused to divulge details because they want to make an official announcement after the confirmations come in.
