Music director Arjun Janya who is known to introduce new singers to Sandalwood has brought in Indian rocker and singer Siddharth Basrur for Hebbuli this time. Having  created a strong impression in B-town, following his contributions to movies like Haunted, Players and the latest Dhoni - The Untold Story, this is the first time, the artist has sung a Kannada song.

The musician and singer, who specialises in punk rock and indie rock has rendered his voice for Sudeep’s introductory number. While Arjun felt that his base voice suits the track, Siddharth was equally thrilled to mark his Sandalwood debut.

“I am not new to Karnataka and Kannada language. I was born in the coastal belt and speak Konkani. Since I have settled in Mumbai, I am influenced by the language there. Though this will be my first song for a film, I have been in touch with singers like Vijay Prakash with whom I have work with for some jingles,” he says.

Siddharth, who has just finished recording for  the song, says he  blindly followed Arjun’s instructions.
“The song has a little bit of rock influence, which is exactly what the music director was looking for,” he says.

The song’s shoot with Sudeep will begin in the coming days.
Meanwhile the film’s audio launch is scheduled to take place on December 25 at Davangere.
Hebbuli made under SRV production in association Umapathy pictures is directed by S Krishna. The film has Amala Paul in the female lead.
