Sahana Murthy’s second film after Rose is Mass Leader, produced by Tharun Shivappa and Hardik Gowda, with Shivarajkumar essaying the lead. As the plan is to go on floors in April, the makers are creating a buzz with its star cast.
If everything goes as per plan, they will be finalising Amulya, who will for the first time play sister to Shivarajkumar’s character. Our source says, “The makers have approached Amulya and discussions are currently on with the actress and hopefully everything should be confirmed in a week.”
It was immensely entertaining to watch Shivarajkumar and Radhika Kumaraswamy as brother and sister in films like Tavarige Baa Thangi (2002), Anna Thangi (2005) and Rishi (2012). It now looks like a new combination of Shivarajkumar and Amulya as a brother-sister duo will create a sensation in the industry. “The key concept of Mass Leader is about revolution weaved into a relationship between a brother and sister, which is underplayed in the film. Shivarajkumar as Mass Leader will play a character with two shades,” says our source, and adds, “A lot of thought has gone into the script. Director Sahana Murthy and team had taken almost a year and a half to finalise their story and for the pre-production work. The reason is that they want Mass Leader to create history like Shivarajkumar’s previous hit films — Om and Jogi — and so they have left no stone unturned. They want the movie to speak for itself.”
Shivaanna, who is back from his holiday, is basking in the succes of Killing Veerappan. Apparently the Telugu audience too have given a thumbs-up for RGV’s directorial. The actor will start on his schedule for Srikanta and will be shooting a few portions for Santheyalli Ninta Kabira. Meanwhile, his other film Bangara - Son of Bangaruda Manushya directed by Yogi G Raj and produced by Jayanna Combines is set to take off in March after a small pooja this Sankranthi. As for Sahana's film, “The dates will be discussed with Shivanna and accordingly the schedule will be planned keeping other actors in mind. Most probably, Mass Leader will go on floors from April,” our source told us.
