Darshan's special tribute to Vishnuvardhan

Actor will be part of a song and dance sequence for Nagarahavu; general public will be invited to be part of the shoot

Darshan has never shied away from offbeat feats. Little wonder he commands the audience’ attention. When the makers of the upcoming Vishnuvardhan film Nagarahavu asked if the actor would make an appearance in the film, Darshan quickly accepted it. He will be part of a tribute to the legend’s 201st film.

Darshan will be part of the title song Gudugugide, jagga nadugide... nodu mathe edeya bichide. It will be shot on a grand set, says a source from the production house. “The makers are spending about ` 1.5 crore on the song that will be choreographed by Ganesh Acharya,” says our source, adding, “the shooting will take place in Mysuru between September 2 and 3 at Maharaja Grounds.”

The shoot will be done in a open ground and the onlookers will be invited to be part of it. This will also be a great opportunity for all Vishnuvardhan and Darshan fans.

“A huge cut-out of Vishnuvardhan will be placed in the song and 300 dancers will be part of its making,” says the source.

Darshan’s father Thoogudeepa Srinivas and Vishnuvardhan have worked together for many films. “So the it is apt that Thoogudeepa's son is part of a tribute to the legend,” says our source.Nagarahavu, produced by Sajid Qureshi and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, will have Ramya and Diganth in the lead. The hype surrounding the film is mainly because of Vishnuvardhan’s appearance in a pivotal role. Animation is being used to recreate his image on screen. The last movie the legend acted in was Aptha Rakshaka in 2010.

This 2016 tribute has music by Gurukiran and cinematography by HC Venu.
