Kodi Ramakrishna-bilingual Nagarahavu,  produced by Sajid Qureshi, is likely to set a new benchmark in Sandalwood by making a record pre-release business of Rs  100 crore. The film, in Kannada and Telugu, will hit the screens on October 14.

While there are talks that the theatrical rights for Karnataka is likely to go for Rs  35 crore, Suraksha Media has bought the Telugu theatrical rights for Rs  15 crore and

Thenandel Films has bought the theatrical rights for Tamil for Rs  15 crore. "The overseas rights have been bought over by Anil Kumar for Rs  9 crore with the TV rights offer for Kannada, Telugu and Tamil coming up to Rs  16 crore. With the dubbing rights for Hindi already sold for Rs  9 crore, the makers are confident that the film will cross Rs  100 crore before release," says a member from the production unit.

The makers are confident about the movie's  spectacular opening.

The film created a buzz after the makers revealed that Dr Vishnuvardhan will make an appearance for 9 minutes in the film, thanks to cutting-edge technology. Makuta VFX, which won national awards for its work in Eega and Baahubali, worked on the movie's graphics that cost the producer Rs  15 crore.

Apparently, Telugu actor Nagarjuna was so impressed with the imaging work in Nagarhavu that he is keen on bringing back his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, back on the big screen.

Nagarahavu featuring Diganth and Ramya in the lead roles has the latter playing a 120-foot snake with Vishuvardhan, who appears as a 140-foot snake.
