The Villain’s first outing wins hearts

The Villain’s first outing wins hearts

Audience have been waiting in anticipation and Prem, the director of The Villain, has revealed the first look of Shivarajkumar and Sudeep on Saturday. In this short span, it has become the talk of Sandalwood. The poster got a thumbsup from all-around and even started trending nationwide within hours of its release. “I took nearly two months to come up with this poster and got this designed by at least three people before finalising on this, which was only done a few hours before its release,” says Prem. “I am glad to have met cinegoers’ expectations, who have been keen on seeing this first look.

The buzz around the poster matched what was around the posters of Baahubali and 2.0... this massive interest only adds to my responsibility. I want this Kannada film to level with Indian standards of filmmaking and I am working towards it.” The poster shows that Prem has changed Shivarajkumar and Sudeep’s hairstyles, and has even fit Sudeep with a blue lens. Prem asked the viewers to observe closely the language of the movie, which will be driven by signs.

He describes this as the “code language of villains”. “This is just the beginning and there is more to come,” he says. “I will be giving two more looks to Shivarajkumar and three to Sudeep.” The film goes on floors from Monday and Prem will be starting the shooting with Sudeep. The film, produced by C R Monohar, has Telugu actor Srikanth, who will be joining the sets from today. “The first schedule will be in Bengaluru and my next stop will be London, where Shivanna will join the team,” he says. The film has Sruthi Hariharan in the cast and the makers are on the lookout for a heroine. It will have music by Arjun Janya.
