The makers of Bakasura got a boost with distributor Jack Manju taking over the rights of the film, even before it goes on floors on April 24. “It is the content and story, which caught Jack Manju’s eyes, and it is a sort of encouragement from him. This has definitely built our confidence,” says Rohit, a Radio Jockey turned actor. Having got to limelight with Karva, the actor will be producing Bakasura, who will also be acting in the film. This is Navaneeth’s second film after Karva, and will also feature Ravichandran in the lead.
Interestingly, the team has roped in Kavya Gowda as the heroine of Bakasura. A popular face on small screen with serials like Shubha viVaha and now Gandhari, Kavya will be another actress, who will be making a big leap on silver screen. “We were looking for a local talent and out of the few girls, we auditioned, Kavya fit the bill and she is on board,” says Rohit.
Meanwhile, the team is likely to finalise Sudharani, who will be paired opposite Ravichandran. Said to be a psychological thriller, will also have well known actors Makrand Deshpande and Sai Kumar along with Pavithra Lokesh, Sadhu Kokila, Suchendra Prasad, Sihi Kahi Chandru among others.
