Smiles and happiness for the leading ladies of Mugulu Nage

Three leading ladies of Mugulu Nage speak to CE about time on sets and equation with Ganesh and Yogaraj Bhat

The soon to be released Mugulu Nage, that has brought back the hit combination of Yogaraj Bhat and Ganesh after a decade has also made it a special experience for the three actresses in the movie - Apoorva Arora, Ashika Ranganath and Nikita Narayan. All three have made sure to give their best and tostand out in their own way. As the fi lm gets set for a monsoon release on September 1, City Express spoke to the young talents, who spoke about Mugulu Nage and working with Yogaraj Bhat.

Self-learnt Mangaluru accent

Apoorva Arora learnt to speak Kannada in the Mangaluru accent for the film. Yogaraj Bhat writes his characters, with great precision,she says. Apoorva didn’t need to go for classes to get her accent right. “I was able to pick up the accent on the sets,” she adds. The Hindi actress, who has dubbed in various other North Indian languages, took just about two to three days at the dubbing studio. Apoorva says that when Siddharta happened, she was very new to Kananda industry and now with Mugulu Nage, it is a totally different experience.

Felt comfortable

One page is not enough to talk about Yogaraj Bhat, Ashika Ranganath. “There is so much in his head and his creativity is unprecedented. Being a college student in Mugulu Nage, all he required from me was candid acting which didn’t require much effort, but improvisation from my previous fi lms,” says Ashika. The actress further reveals that she did feel nervous on the fi rst day of shoot. “Bhatru helped me to be myself while Ganesh made me feel very comfortable. It’s was a pleasant experience,” she says.

Vintage cars and happiness

“Just like the title of the movie, Ganesh is the face of Mugulu Nage and carries the fi lm with great happiness. Yogaraj Bhat has always been all smiles while directing it the movie,” says Nikhita, who learnt to drive a vintage car on the roads of Pondicherry, for the movie. “I greatly enjoyed the experience,” she adds.According to her, Bhatru is calm and composed director and showed great skill in bringing together all the actors together. “He enjoys his work so much, which will defi nitely refl ect on the fi lm. His objective is very clear. He has also been instrumental in introducing many talents to the industry.”
