Five battle it out for 'Chowka'

The five music directors are ready with an album.

Tarun Sudhir’s debut directorial Chowka brings together a team of 25 technicians including dialogue writers, choreographers, cinematographers, music directors and art directors.

Five music directors Gurukiran, V Harikrishna, Arjun Janya, V Sridhar and Anoop Seelin have battled it out to give their best for Chowka. While song Alladsu Alladsu composed by V Harikrishna has already topped the charts and Arjun Janya song Appa I Love You has started a trend. The young musician will be out with another track Vande Mataram soon.

Sridhar V has composed Turthinalli Geechida, Tarun says, Gurukiran gives a tribute to actor Dwarakish and Anoop Seelin’s track is an entertainer that will will combine four styles of music.
Arjun Janya has also done the background score for Chowka. He says, “The background score is vital to the movie that is set in different seasons and different historical periods.”

The music director says that Chowka is not a regular movie and therefore went for a musical arrangement that reflects the periods and seasons. “The instrument that was popular in a period will feature prominently in the changing background score,” he says.

Aadoo aata aadu:  A tribute to senior actor Dwarakish
Music director Gurukiran has recreated an all-time hit of actor Dwarakish, Aadoo aata aadu, from Kulla Agent. The music director has captured the essence of the song and, in the film, it will be in the voice of a female singer. “This is a tribute to senior actor Dwarakish, who is the producer of this 50th film Chowka,” says Tarun.

Vande Mataram Rocks
Another highlight will be a version of Vande Mataram track, which will be released soon. The song, sung by Tipu has the poem Oodi brahmana aagu, kaadu kshatriya naagu as lyrics written by Siddhaiah Puranik, is set in a rock arrangement. “This patriotic song will be played at the end of the film and it will blend into a rock version of Jana gana mana.”

Arjun dedicates Appa Song to Father and Daughter
Appa I Love has gone viral. Arjun says that he is proud to have composed the tune for this particular song, which has lyrics written by Dr Nagendra Prasad.

“Usually people appreciate a song but this time they have been calling up telling me how the song changed their lives. They developed a new respect for their father and some have even patched up with their fathers. I am satisfied that our team was able to reach many hearts,” says Arjun, who is dedicating this song to his father and daughter.
