Remya Nambeesan to play Bhanumathi in Kurukshetra

Film has also roped in Bharati Vishnuvardhan, in place of Lakshmi, to play Kunti; Aditi Arya plays Uttara and Pavithra Lokesh comes on board as Subhadra

Magnum opus Kurukshetra, which went on floors on August 6, is progressing at a brisk pace and has the ensemble cast including the lead actor Darshan, Arjun Sarja, Ravichandran, Ambareesh, Sonu Sood, Danish Akhtar Saifi and Nikhil Kumar among many other artists. The team is temporarily camping at Ramoji City, Hyderabad, taking walks through the majestic sets created by art director Kiran Kumar.  

The project saw some actors being replaced due to date clashes and overlapping commitments, In the latest development, Remya Nambeesan is set to play Bhanumathi and paired opposite Darshan.

She has replaced Regina Cassandra, who left the project citing date clashes. Remya is now said to be joining the sets from October. Kurukshetra will be her second outing in Kannada. She marked her debut with Style King.

Actress Lakshmi, who was supposed to play Kunti in the Mahabharata epic, has stepped aside too because she could not accommodate a schedule along with her reality show Drama Juniors.

The makers have now roped in senior actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan instead.While Aditi Arya is to play Uttara, opposite Nikhil Kumar, Pavithra Lokesh is said to have come on board for Kurukshetra as Subhadra.

The movie, made without any budget constraints, has music by V Harikrishna and cinematography by Jai Vincent. The film has action by King Solomon of Baahubali fame with Makuta team working on the graphics.

Project Director Jayashree Devi, a strong support

The film directed by Naganna has producer Munirathna overseeing the shoot. But the person ensuring the smooth running of the project is Project Director Jayashree Devi.

A producer, who has previously handled a lot of films, she is being called the pillar of Kurukshetra. Jayashree, along with her team, is making all the effort to take this movie to a whole new level in Sandalwood.

The producer has been helping with the massive casting exercise and is paying attention to every detail of the making.
