Yash-starrer KGF, directed by Prashanth Neel, is left with just 20 days of shoot, which schedule is planned in the month of March. This will be followed with the post-production work. However, the film will be delayed by a few months,”says the director, who is not in a position to reveal the exact date of release. The reason for the longer wait is that it is being released in five languages - Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The magnum opus made under Hombale Films is produced by Vijay Kiragandur.

Prashanth says that the film has grown “larger” and therefore needs time for promotions in all the languages. “Initially, we were in a bit of hurry and wanted to release it in March. Now that we won’t be able to meet that deadline, we want to do better promotion for the movie and reach out to audiences all over  Karnataka and India,” he says.Prashanth adds, “We are confident about our product and want exhibitors and distributors from all languages to watch our film, which will take time.” He says that he would have a better clarity about the release date after the shoot is complete.

Rumours have it that part two of KGF might go on floors only next year. Prashanth says, “We have completely left that decision to Yash, who has committed to projects by other producers a long time ago. And with my style of filmmaking, if we wait for part two, it might bother other producers too. Secondly, it is not right for me to be commenting on this. According to all of us, the first half of this movie is great and the second half is better, and sequel of KGF will definitely come out. It will be worth the wait and we need to allow Yash that time, since he has professional and personal commitments to meet”.

Meanwhile, the director promises to aggressively work towards completing the post-production work. “But, I will start with the second part only if I am satisfied with first. Producers on the other hand are confident about the project and have let the film take its own course,” he says.

Another good news from Prashanth is that Yash will soon lose his beard, which the actor has been sporting for a while now. “Yes, he is going to do away with the beard for the second part. In fact, he might get rid of it in the last days of the coming schedule, for which he has to wear a clean-shaven look,” says the director.
