Neettoo may not have given a big hit in the recent times, but the Gaalipata actress, who is now 20-films-old, is entertaining the audience with item songs and cameo roles, which according to her is not a deliberate move. “There is no intention behind my doing cameo roles or item songs in films like Crazy Star and Jaggi. I am choosing the best out of the many offers that have come my way. I am an artiste, and I should be ready to consider what fits the bill for me and the filmmakers,” she explains.

“Of course, there was a time when I felt that my talent was not recognised in the industry. But I have crossed that stage. I am now happy that the Kannada industry is still giving me work because the audience likes me,” she adds

“Nobody has the guts to cast me in certain roles because the industry doesn’t like taking too many risks and I can’t blame them. The good thing is that there has never been a dull day in my life. I am still in the minds of people and the industry,” says Neettoo.

A few took notice of her sizzling dance number in Crazy Star, before it was chopped off from the movie.

“I couldn’t have glammed up for a role like the one in Gaalipata. This song required me to dress up in a certain way and I did. Secondly, I wouldn’t have chosen to play the part if it wasn’t for director-actor Ravichandran. It was his choice to keep the song or remove it.”

Nevertheless, Neettoo is looking forward to the release of her next two films.

“I play a psychologist in Ice Pice. With the audio launch scheduled to happen soon, I am looking forward to its release. This apart, I have another film titled Paru I love You,” says Neettoo.

About her role in Ring Road Shubha, she says, “I play a 25-year-old script writer who comes in the beginning of the movie with the script of Ring Road Shubha, which is later taken forward. It is a nice role and I was happy to be part of the all-women crew. It was also interesting to ride a bike in the movie.”  When she is not busy on the sets, Neettoo is usually travelling or planning a vacation.

“I enjoy backpacking. I just visited Iran and also took a trip to Ajantha and Ellora. My mother warns me about spending all my hard-earned money on travel,” she laughs.
