A Circus of Fun and Frolic

Rafi, director of Ring Master which has Dileep donning the role of a dog trainer, says the movie is an out-and-out entertainer
A Circus of Fun and Frolic

“Being an animal trainer is the one of most adventurous careers,” says director Rafi whose next outing Ring Master has Dileep donning the role of a dog trainer.

The director who had parted ways with his co-director Mecartin says he cannot zero in on a theme that lacks in humorous elements. And he has an uncanny way of seeing the humorous side of anything under the sun.

“I believe even the most complicated matter can be conveyed easily if it is rendered with a touch of humour. For me cinemas are solely for entertainment, a stress buster for those going through the downs and pathos of life and I’ve tried my best to offer loads of fun,” he says.

Needless to say, Ring Master is a lavish celebration of humour, with actors Keerthy Suresh and Honey Rose sharing screen with Dileep. As the title suggests the story revolves around the happenings in the life of Prince [played by Dileep] who is a dog trainer in a circus company.

Vijayaraghavan plays Dileep’s father and Prince, the dog trainer, is completely a father’s son. “Unfortunately, Vijayaraghavan, a renowned ring master for a circus troupe lost his job when the law banned  wild animals in circus. The film revolves around the plight of the circus people. There is also an undercurrent against the exploitation of animals. Whatever said and done, you won’t find such genuine souls as them on earth,” says the director.

Keerthy Suresh plays a blind girl. “She plays a blind girl, ‘Mia’ and her pet dog shows her the way and assists her with many things,” says Rafi who adds that it’s difficult to tag Ring Master as a fully hero-oriented movie.

Ring master will also see dogs playing a major role. The hardships endured by the lead actor while fighting the injustice meted out to animals while training them form the crux of the movie. In his journey he crosses several traumatic phases and encounters unexpected twists and turns. Whether Prince succeeds in his endeavour or not is a suspense,” says the director.

Trained high breed dogs were brought from Mumbai for the movie. Rafi says that Dileep went out of the way to gel with the pets. “He spared quality time in pampering them and within  a day or two, they were turned friendly.”

The shoots of the Ring Master directed and scripted by Rafi is progressing in Kochi. Gopi Sundar leads the music team. The movie will hit screens for Vishu.
