Who can forget Tessa K Abraham, Rima Kallingal’s career-best role in 22 Female Kottayam. Even though the film had hit the screens a year back the buzz it created is yet to die down. Rima bagged quite a few awards for her brilliant performance in the revenge drama as the Malayali nurse who gets trapped by two men. The team behind the Tamil remake have been hunting for an actress to play the lead and now we hear that Nithya Menon has been roped in to play Tessa.

Nithya, who was last seen in V K Prakash’s Poppins, now has her kitty full of Kannada and Telugu projects. Though it’s almost fixed that Nithya will be reprising Rima’s role in the film, the hero is yet to be decided. The makers are on the lookout for an actor to fill Fahad’s role in the original. Kovai Sarala will be seen in another important role in the film while Sriya Reddy is expected to play another character with shades of grey. In the film, a bilingual being made in both Tamil and Telugu, Prathap Pothen will reprise his role in the original. The film will go on floors at Hyderabad in early July.
