Kannur girl Resna Pavithran has debuted in Tamil movie Theriyamme unnai kathalichitten

Kannur girl Resna Pavithran had always dreamt about being in the   showbiz. But, never once did she think that she would become a name to be reckoned in Tamil industry. Now that her debut movie ‘Theriyamme Unnai Kathalichitten’ directed by Ramu has hit the theatres, Resna has already made a footing in the Tamil  industry.

Resna plays Gayathri, a vivacious plus-two student in her debut movie which tells the story of a young couple who elopes as their parents are against their affair.

The movie starring Vijay Vasanth has received mixed reviews in the box office.

“It was a dream-come-true  moment. My manager had sent my pictures to Ramu, the director of the film. He was convinced and chose me from the 1000 others.

When he offered me the role, I had nothing to say other than yes,” says Resna adding that she had fun on the sets of the movie.

According to her, Gayathri is someone who anybody can empathise.

“She is a very lazy girl who is unwilling to move. She uses a stick to get her TV remote and waits at the dinner table until her mother feeds her. The film has every comical and romantic elements,” she says.

Though the shoot of the film was completed a year ago, it was delayed due to several reasons.

However, the movie is yet to release in Kerala. Resna also acted in a Malayalam art movie titled ‘Mounam’ directed by Suresh Machad.

 “In the movie, I played a typical ‘Namboodiri’ woman. Saiju Kurup plays the  lead. The films takes a look on the Communist regime which existed in the post-Independence India.

She has also shared screen space with actors such as Thilakan, Innocent, Salimkumar and Anoop Chandran.
