Here’s news for the kids. The Malayalam 3D film Mayapuri (2015) is being dubbed in Tamil.
The film, which will feature Kalabhavan Mani and Esther Anil, among others, is directed by Mahesh Kesav. Esther Anil played Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter in the hit Papanasam (2015). Sources say the film is about four kids who head to their grandparents’ place for a vacation.
They find a number of toys among which one transports them to another world in which dwarves are enslaved by a cruel witch. The witch traps the children as well, and the film is about how they get out. The firm producing the Tamil version will also produce a Tamil film titled Ganapathipuram. Says a source, “This Tamil film will be directed by Arun Babu. The film will feature Mia George in the female lead and will also have Kalabhavan Mani.
The unit is in the process of finalising the hero of the film.”
