Akkaldamayile Pennu

Akkaldama is a land of sins. A cemetery and a pit of the damned adorn the centre of this condemned land. A world that revolves around these two landmarks is portrayed in the upcoming movie ‘Akkaldamayile Pennu,’which is set for theatrical release on November 20. It tells the story of three generations of women who have lived in Akkaldama - protagonist Xavi’s wife Anges, her daughter Maria and granddaughter - who are the representatives of the times they grew up in. The makers claim the movie attempts to portray the struggles and tribulations of women in the past and present. The movie is shot at scenic locations in Vagamon.

The movie is directed by ad filmmaker Jayaram Kailas based on the script written by Sinoj Nengolam. The starcast of the movie includes Lal, Swetha Menon, Malavika (of ‘Karuthapakshikal’), Vineeth, Sudhir Karamana, Jaffer Idukki and Rajesh Hebbar. The movie is being produced under the banner of Pearl Media and Movies by Ashique Doha and Kasim Areekkulam. Anil Panachooran has penned the lyrics while Alphonse has composed the music.  The work of Venugopal, who cranks the camera, has already been lauded for poetically capturing the locales of Vagamon.
