The audio launch of Kili Poyi fame director Vinay Govind’s upcoming flick Kohinoor was a star-studded affair. The Asif Ali starrer is not only the actor’s second stint with Vinay, but with Kohinoor, he joins the league of stars who have started production houses. Kohinoor, produced under Asif’s inhouse production Adams’ World of Imagination, which he started along with friends Sajin Jafar and Prajeesh Mohammed, will be its first venture.
Though the launch of Adams’ World of Imagination had been announced few months back, it was on Tuesday that the production house was officially launched by megastar Mammootty, at Kochi. The production house aims to provide a platform for talented budding filmmakers to make quality cinema.
Speaking during function, Mammootty said, “Like Adam, the first human being on earth is the reason for the evolution of mankind, let this production venture evolve to greater heights by producing good films.”
Asif Ali, who always wanted to be in films, shared his joy over the starting of the venture. “Cinema and acting are always a passion for me. Though after studies my family was a bit afraid whether I would make it big in films, since I don’t have a film background. But, with God’s grace everything came out well for me. And Adams’ World of Imagination is a dream come true for me, which took off only because of the support of my friends Sajin and Prajeesh,” he said during the function.
The official launch of the production house was followed by audio launch of Kohinoor. The film also stars Indrajith, Aju Varghese, Aparna Vinod and Chemban Vinod. The film is set in the 80s and is a heist movie. The music is composed by Rahul Raj and lyrics are penned by Hari Narayanan. Script is by Salil Menon and Ranjith Kamala Shankar. For the launch actors Kunchacko Boban, Sudheer Karamana, Dinesh, Govind Padmasoorya, directors Sibi Malayil, Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, singer Vijay Yesudas were also present.
