The romance in Asif Ali’s Sunday Holiday is very realistic

Director Jis Joy's next will have Asif Ali  and Aparna Balamurali in the lead

After the success of comedy-thriller Bicycle Thieves (2013), director Jis Joy and Asif Ali will join hands for Sunday Holiday, an out-and-out comedy subject.
The movie, the shoot of which is already on, features a very realistic  romantic thread that is quite different from what we have seen lately, says the director.

“The romantic angle in Sunday Holiday is a prominent one, but it is very earthy, like the ones we saw in Tamil movies like Veyil and Engeyum  Epothum, says Jis. Asif Ali will be seen romancing Aparna Balamurali in the movie.

According to the director, another highlight of the movie is its layered story-telling. “The story runs in two layers. One is all about an incident  that happens on a particular Sunday, while the rest follows the life of a  band set master and his son, played by Alancier and Asif Ali, respectively,” says Jis Joy.

Sunday Holiday also has director Lal Jose, Siddique, Sreenivasan and Asha Sarat playing important roles. “In fact, Lal Jose and Sreenivasan were impressed by the layer story-telling approach,” says Jis. He adds that Siddique plays a very comical character in the movie. “His character is very funny. He plays Nakutty Varayalveli, an out of work assistant director. He  is someone who impresses us with his humour act,” says Jis Joy.
