For those who have been anticipating the directorial debut of cinematographer Jomon T John, here is the good news. Jomon is all set to make his debut with none other than Nivin Pauly. The movie titled Kairali is based on the mysterious disappearance of ship MV Kairali more than 30 years ago. Kairali will be scripted by director-actor Siddartha Siva.

The actor took to Facebook to announce the news. He posted: So here comes the big news! Announcing my new project with my dearest Jomon T John who will make his directorial debut in this film titled Kairali. The movie is based on Kerala’s first ship MV Kairali, which disappeared in 1979 just off the coast of India with a crew of 49 members.

According to Nivin, he was thrilled when he heard the script of the movie.  The movie will be jointly produced by Pauly Jr Pictures and Real Life Works.   

The shoot will begin by December last. Nivin who is currently shooting for Hey Jude with Trisha in Goa will next be seen in Tamil project Richie and Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela. He has also signed two other projects, including Love Action Drama which marks the debut of Dhyan Sreenivasan as a director.
