The prestigious talent hunt show, Voice of Bangalore (VOB), Season-6, presented by Garuda Mall ended in a fitting way, with two very deserving contestants bagging the coveted VOB title. Considered the biggest talent hunt show in the state, the event was attended by hundreds of people and graced by celebrity judges.

After patiently auditioning over 7000 contestants, the judges zeroed on six finalists who battled for the prize, which would also serve as their ticket to a succesful career in playback singering. The judges for the grand finale were Kannada star Ravichandran, Bollywood playback singer Alka Yagnik and Sandalwood playback singer Rajesh Krishnan.

Alka Yagnik declared the male winner of the Voice of Bangalore Season-6, Vijeth Urs M and Ravichandran declared the female winner, Jinsha K Nanu.

Winner Vijeth Urs M, who was considered one of the strongest contenders throughout the season appeared confident and showed no signs of nervousness. This 19-year-old who dreams of becoming a playback singer feels that VOB is the best platform to hone his talent. Vijeth sang ‘Janumada Gelati’, ‘Kannu Kanniganthu’ and ‘Gaana Vidya Bahuta’. He also said that he is a big fan of Ravichandran. “I love the songs from ‘Preetsod Tappa’ and you were looking amazing in the movie.”

The other winner, Jisha Nanu sang ‘Tribhuvana Janani’, ‘Saaware’, ‘Gili Gili Gilakka’, which impressed the judges and audience alike. Jisha is also a consistent performer and was considered one of the favourites among the jury.

Singer Alka Yagnik entertained the audience with popular numbers like ‘Ek Do Teen’ and ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hain’.

This talent show which is more than five years old has gained immense popularity and people from all walks of life have participated in the event. Over three lakh participants have taken part in the competition over the years. The show has even given some of the best playback singers Supriya Ramakrishnaiah, Santosh and Deepak to the Sandalwood film industry. The concept of the show this time was that all singers have to sing three songs of different moods: classical, romantic and peppy. The winners also won a Maruti A Star car each.

Other than the leading singers, credit also goes to the musical group ‘Rajgopal’s Saptaswara’ who contributed to the success of the show and made the songs sound more magical.
