Aishwarya Dutta seems to be on cloud nine.  Coming from Kolkata to K-Town via Bollywood, she has landed her first film here.

Starring in VLS Rock Cinema’s newly launched untitled romantic thriller, she plays one of the leads with Nakul as her co-star.

Speaking to City Express, the young actor gushes, “My director is Ram Prakash, while Pizza cameraman Gopi handles the camera. I’m very lucky to have got such an interetesting script right in my first film here!” The actor is not new to the arc lights. In fact, the gutsy girl has just played a lesbian in her debut bilingual in Hindi and Bengali, titled Picnic. “The film is about to release  and is directed by Raj Mukherjee. It’s a thriller with many characters and I play a lesbian. It was a very challenging role for me but I’m up for challenges!” she says. Aishwarya has also been part of a music video for Sony by singer Harshit Saxena, which will release in December. So how did she land up in Kollywood? “Through Facebook!” comes the reply. “I have done some ads in the South for leading brands. I was contacted  by a co-ordinator who liked my work and landed this offer from Kollywood.” So it’s been a smooth transition for the youngster from modelling to films and she’s excited about her foray into the South. “I always wanted to be a star from childhood! I got my portfolio done when I was 17 itself!” says the girl who has been part of dance reality shows like Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Chak Dhum Dhum. “But my mom advised me to take things one step at a time. So, here I am today!” she grins happily.

Aishwarya confesses that she is a huge fan of Surya and that among female stars, likes Amala Paul. “I saw her in Thalaiva recently and really liked her!” she says with a smile. Meanwhile, she is busy with the shooting of her film which also stars Attakathi fame Dinesh and Bindu Madhavi.
