Sandalwood has more or less set a trend of replacing lead actors, after they are announced with much fanfare for a project. However, this has never affected the industry because there is no dearth of actors, who want to work in Kannada. Likewise, Shona, who was shown the door in  Duniya Vijay-starrer Cobra, has been now replaced by a Mumbai girl Angana Roy.

Angana is excited about her debut in Kannada. She says, “Cobra will definitely be a good launch vehicle for me in Kannada. I always wanted to do a Kannada film since I am basically a Bangalorean. It is only now that I am settled in Mumbai. I was very glad when the producer Maheen felt I suited the role.” Angana started her career as a model and later went to be popular in Tamil and Telugu films.

“I have done a lot of print and commercial ads. I started with a cameo role in a Tamil film, Vathikuchi. I got offers as soon as I finished with my studies. Call it destiny or luck, I am here today,” says Angana who has done Tamil films like Kabadam, Megha and Mahabalipuram. She has made her  mark in Tollywood with a thriller Rahadri and is currently shooting for another Telugu film Naa Devudu.
