With a script in his hands, Pandiraj went around studios meeting producers and when he couldn’t find one, he became furious and wrote a commercial script just to tell the world he is capable of writing such a strong script.

When he found a producer, Sasikumar, Pandiraj became a director with the film 'Pasanga', which became a super hit. The second script he wrote is now turning out as a big entertainer with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s grandson Arulnidhi making his debut.

The film titled 'Vamsam' will again prove his directorial skills.

Pandiraj says, “I’m so happy that Kamal sir launched my first film and now the CM himself. Some 14 years ago, standing among the crowd, I got a chance to see the Chief Minister when he was passing by and I called my family in the village and exclaimed with happiness that I saw him.”

The director is in all praise of the producer Tamilarasu and the hero Arulnidhi. “When Arulnidhi came to meet me, he said he wanted to do the village script which I had. I was so shocked to see him as he was like any other  city guy. I told him it wouldn’t be possible but he said he could do it. Both Arulnidhi and Sunaina worked hard in the film,” adds the director.

'Vamsam' was earlier titled 'Aaruvadhu Sinam' but the title was changed subsequently as the director thought it would be apt. “A few well-known characters in 'Pasanga' will also appear in the film. Sunaina as Malarkodi has done her best. Her character is bold and it will be appreciated. The message of 'Vamsam' is to forgive and forget,” adds Pandiraj.
