CHENNAI: Gowtham Menon’s blunt statement about not working with Ajith Kumar in future had stirred up agitations amongst the actor’s fans. But everybody was curious to see who would star in the director’s new film.

The director seems to have brought in close friend Suriya to star in the lead role. Another interesting buzz about the film is Gowtham Menon signing British Model Amy Jackson of ‘Madrasapattinam’ fame for the female lead role.

‘Thuppariyum Anand’ will be a suspense thriller set in backdrops of 1930s with film revolving around a detective investigating a series of murders held in old Madras. In a recent interview, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa had mentioned that he has, along with Gowtham Menon, started doing research works for the film.

Although Gowtham Menon has confirmed his plans of making ‘Thuppariyum Anand’, he hasn’t said anything yet on the film’s cast.
