Putting an end to rumours that are being spread, actor Arjun has come clean about his role in Mani Ratnam’s 'Kadal'. He is not playing the villain like he did in 'Mankatha', he confirms.

“I’ve been offered a different character and have not played such a role in my any of my films. At present I can’t reveal much about 'Kadal' as we haven’t started the shooting yet. I’m thrilled to do a flick with Mani Ratnam, and this is our first outing together,” says the 'Vallakottai' actor, who has just come back from the screening of his film, 'Prasaad', in Berlin Film Festival.

In 'Kadal', he may have a pair, he explains. “We haven’t decided on that as yet. All I know is that actor Arvind Swamy is also playing an important role in 'Kadal',” the ‘Action King’ says.

Despite having being a lead actor to reckon with for many years in Kollywood, Arjun doesn’t resent that he is being offered second hero roles these days. It’s the role that matters, he admits.

“I have playing the second lead in a few films now– 'Bommalaatam', 'Mankatha' and now 'Kadal'. However, these roles have been well-recognised and I’m able to experiment,” he says.

Apart from Kadal, Arjun will also be seen in director Vasanth’s 'Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal' (MPMK) . The actor will be playing one of the lead roles. Sharing screen space with two other male leads is also something Arjun has no qualms about. For him, a multistarrer gives actors a platform to showcase their acting skill.

He says, “In MPMK, I play a swimming coach who falls in love with a swimmer. It’s basically a love story.” Also, what’s interesting here is that the actor revealed that all three actors don’t have a combination together. It’s a story of three different love stories, he says.

Meanwhile, the Action King wants to prove his mettle in Bollywood as well. He is preparing for an action-packed Hindi film, which will also be directed by him. “I have established myself as the Action King in the South. Now, I want to do a Hindi film and the response in Bollywood is overwhelming for Tamil actors. I’m working on a script and I will also be playing the lead in that film too,” Arjun signs off.
