Young actor Sri is a popular face across the state, thanks to the success of Vazhakku Enn 18/9. But the actor says he had hoped to be part of the filmmaker’s previous film Kalloori. “I first sent my photos to Balaji Sakthivel sir’s office when he was auditioning for Kalloori. But I didn’t get any call from him then,” says Sri.
But he was ready to utilise any opportunity that came his way and that’s how he became a part of the popular serial Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal in his college days.
Sri, who has also lent his voices to radio channels abroad, later bagged the opportunity to be part of Sakthivel’s next film. “Balaji sir clearly mentioned my role and had asked me to prepare myself accordingly. After that, I went to roadside eateries in Ramapuram and familiarised myself with their lifestyle,” says the Viscom graduate.
When asked if he told Sakthivel about his attempt to feature in Kalloori, Sri responds, “I told Balaji sir only recently that I tried to work in Kalloori. But he responded saying he was not aware of it and didn’t remember if he got to see my photos.”
