'Ammavin Kaipesi' joins the Deepavali line-up

It’s the same as every year. While some of the supposed-to-be Deepavali releases pulled out of the race ahead of the D-Day,  unexpected ones like Thangar Bachan’s 'Ammavin Kaipesi' have joined the list of festival releases.

Starring Shanthanoo and Iniya in lead roles, the film revolves around a mother-son relationship and is expected to be a family entertainer.

Shanthanoo, for the first time, has played a villager  and has gone for a makeover.

The director himself plays an important role in the film and actor Meenakshi has played his pair. This is Thangar Bachan's fifth film as a director.

'Thuppakki', 'Podaa Podi', 'Kumki', 'Samar' and 'Lollu Dhadha Paraak Paraak' were initially expected to hit the screens around November 13, and now 'Kumki' and 'Samar' are almost out of the race, as there is no official confirmation yet.

While 'Thuppakki' is said to be hitting the screens on November 9 and 'Podaa Podi' on November 13, both are expected to go for censor clearance this week.
