Despite the fact that Rajinikanth made it known that he was heading out of the city for his 63rd birthday, fans flocked to his house in Poes Garden in the hope of seeing the Superstar. Close to 600 fans were seen dotting the streets leading to the actor’s house and after three hours of waiting they were allowed to enter and leave their flowers and garlands with Rajini’s wife.
Rajini is believed to have spent the day in Tirupati and may have stopped in Bangalore to visit his close friends. “He started out this morning and drove himself. He may have gone to Tirpuati because he needs some form of a divine visit on his birthday every year,” said the source.
Fanfare was seen at the Raghavendra temple in T Nagar when a special puja was conducted for the actor’s health and that of his upcoming flick Kochadaiiyaan. Though there was some buzz at Albert Theatre and a few public celebrations in pockets, they were few and far between.
