Ajith Goes Bald After Veeram's Completion

Thala has shed his usually short locks for Veeram.

Ajith’s massive female following, which significantly spiked after his salt-and-pepper look in Mankatha, is going to heave a sigh of disappointment if they see him now. The thick grey mane he has been sporting recently is all gone… as an offering at Tirupathi.

The actor and his Veeram director, Siva, tonsured their heads in an offering to the Lord at the Tirumala Tirupathi temple. Sources say that the duo went bald as a sign of thanksgiving for successfully completing Veeram, whose release is barely a month away.

Although he has sported near-bald looks in the past for his films like Red and Citizen, this might just be the first time he’s tonsured for the sucess of a film. Aijth is said to have been a periodic visitor to the Tirupathi temple.

This is just the latest in the run-up to the release of the film, whose poster — released last month — met with an overwhelming response by both fans and the film fraternity alike. “OMG, Veeram teaser! Two thumbs up. Marana mass,” tweeted Dhanush.

Veeram is also notable for the addition of Suhail Chandok to its cast. Suhail, the brother of former formula one racer Karun Chandok, was cast after his acting stint in a short film.

But don’t worry ladies. With him being signed up for Gautham Menon’s next, you can be rest assured that ‘Thala’ will be back in a stylish avatar — with a headful of hair of course. The only thing to be seen is whether he will keep his grey hair or go with a younger look!
