Income Tax officials carried out a search on the office premises of Tirupathi Brothers, a Tamil film production company owned by noted film director, producer and screen writer N Lingusamy and his brother N Subash Chandrabose, on Tuesday. The search, it was reported, was carried out after officials suspected tax evasion by the brothers. The raids were carried out at the Tirupathi Brothers office located on La Mech Street in Valasaravakkam around 10 am.
The raids come at a time when the production house plans to release two films - Ivan Veramathiri and Manja Pai - this year. The shooting of both the films is in progress.
