Composer K, who rose to prominence with films like Aarohanam and Yuddham Sei, is now heading down under to record the music for is upcoming Tamil film Kallappadam. “Since the makers of the film feel music as well as recording has no land barriers, they have decided to record the music of the film in Australia. K has left for there and is extremely delighted with the opportunity,” said a statement from the makers of the film.

One of the highlights of the film will be K’s anthem for women, sung by Maghizhini, who also sang the hugely popular Soi Soi number in Kumki. “This anthem was recorded March 8, which is celebrated all over as International Women’s Day,” added the statement.

K also plays one of the leads of the film. Another highlight of the film is that three other technicians – the director, cinematographer and the editor – also play the other lead roles.

Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli plays the female lead.
