CHENNAI: There’s a British beauty in Rajinikanth’s next flick Lingaa — and she’s completely in awe of the Superstar, after having shot with him in Mysore for the last three weeks. Lauren Irwin, who has acted in short films like Terminate Her and Senseless, has shot as a young British woman in colonial India, who has a young daughter. “Her character is a powerful one and is central to the 40’s section of Lingaa. She came along with other British and American actors who had been cast to fit these roles. K S Ravikumar is very happy with the way the period scenes have come out in Mysore,” said a source. The Liverpool-born actress headed home to LA on May 25, after her portions were canned.

But if her time with South India’s favourite hero stunned her, what happened on Wednesday on Twitter knocked her out — as soon as the actor, singer and dancer posted pictures of herself with Rajini from Lingaa’s sets, her account saw an avalanche of views and she soon began to trend in Chennai. “Overwhelmed by all the love. Your support for him is just amazing,” she tweeted — while attempting to reply in person to all the people complimenting her and wishing her well for acting with their Thalaivar.

Reflecting on her time with Rajini in Mysore and Bengaluru, she said, “After I shot my first scene, he came over to say that it was really good,” she gushed on Twitter. Going on about the Superstar, she added “He was amazing to work with and I am honoured to be a part of the movie and for the chance to work with such a great Superstar. It was a career-high,” she added.
