Raghava Lawrence brings a different concept with his next flick Oru Ticket la Rendu Cinema (OTRC).  The movie will be a combination of two films, the first half titled Kizhavan and the other half Karuppu Durai (KD). Lawrence, who will be directing both movies and also play the hero, has signed Raai Laxmi as heroine for KD. And that’s what got the pretty actor all excited. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime role for me!” she gushes. And we’re eager to find out why.

laxmi.jpgLaxmi says,“I play a poor girl who is uneducated and has no means to support herself. It’s about how she grows up and ends up doing something meaningful for society. Usually I do glam roles and have even done homely roles in Malayalam. But this is something I’ve never tried before.”

The actor who is known for her fair  complexion and healthy build will have to go for a complete image makeover. “I have not only got to tan myself extensively, I’ll also have to lose weight and look like a skeleton, completely emaciated and hungry,” she says.

But she’s over the moon, despite it all. “I don’t mind doing any of this! For the first time I’ll be having a full-fledged performing role. No-one would have seen me this way before, so I just love the challenge! I’m so touched that Lawrence saw my potential in this way.”

Ask her how the role landed in her lap and she laughs, “Lawrence and I were just talking one day, when he threw this challenge at me!” But lest we think its an arty film, she assures us, “It’s a complete mass entertainer in typical Lawrence style.” The shoot will start in November and Andrea is being considered for a lead role in Kizhavan.
