Applauding director G Bramma, veteran director P Bharathiraaja called him be a greater creator than himself. “My directorial venture ‘Nizhalgal’ was a mess at the box office. It pushed me not to do expertiments. But I always had the longing that someone should do films that are of international standard. Now, I am very happy that today, 50 per cent of the youngsters entering cinema are coming up with world-class scripts.” he stated.
In his note on the National award-winning film Kuttram Kadithal directed by Bramma G, he said “ The script has an apt title Kuttram Kadithal. The film hasn’t compromised in any way on the story and the characterisation. The script and characters were sketched by the writer with utmost care without adding any spice to it unlike regular cinema . Bramma G has transformed himself as the characters he was writing. It is only possible with a writer.”
He adds that Kuttram Kadithal is not just a marvel of Bramma and that the actors too have made a mark with their close-to-real performances. “Debutant actress Radhika played the role of a young teacher to perfection. Her acting and expressions were mesmerising. The little chap Ajay, with no place for inhibitions, handled the art of acting with such ease. Yes, Pavel Navageethan fills the frame with his presence as a maternal uncle to Ajay What else could you say if you find a cast that is so realistic to the character he/she plays?,” he exclaimed, adding that while he has seen people who act well, the whole cast of Kutram Kadithal stands out with the actors having lived throughout the film.
Also praising the music director Shankar Rengarajan that his music was not hindrance to the emotion of the movies, Bharathiraaja said that Shankar has tried to introduce variety with the music.
“Having had everyone’s contribution under control, Bramma directed the script with elegance. He is truly a greater creator than me,” he signed off.
