The 2nd edition of the Behindwoods Gold Medals had a grand launch event on Sunday, the 31st of May at Raintree Hotel, Chennai. The main award function will take place at the ITC Grand Chola on the 19th of July amidst leading celebrities of the Kollywood film industry, numerous Tamil cinema fans and other dignitaries.
Apart from the awards for meritorious acting and technical skills, we have two other People's Choice Awards (Male and Female) powered by the Tamil cinema fans, who drive the industry with their undying support and extraordinary passion. The two People's Choice Polls have been online in our website from the 31st of May, 2015 with widespread participation from fans. These polls were conducted in the most transparent way in which the participants voted with their log-in credentials either from Google or Facebook or Twitter.
There were four nominees in each of the People’s Choice poll (Male and Female). The candidates were selected based on their success in 2014. These polls live for 40 days and closed on July 10th midnight.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay who was leading for most part of the poll clinches victory with a massive 66,398 votes in the People's Choice category in Male. Thala Ajith who gave a tough fight to Vijay is in the second spot. The end results of People’s Choice Poll - Male are as follows,
