Suriya, who’s currently busy with S-III or Singam 3 (the third part of the ‘Singam’ franchise), will release the audio and trailer of Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 28 sequel in Malaysia. An official statement from the makers confirmed that he’d be taking part in the event on October 7. “By that time, Suriya would already be in Malaysia for the shoot of S-III; so we thought it would make sense to have him as the chief guest. When we approached him, he immediately agreed,” a source said. The actor and director combo had already worked together in action-comedy Mass-u Engira Masilamani.

A sequel to the 2007 superhit Chennai 28, Venkat Prabhu has retained most of the original cast including Jai, Premgi, Shiva, Nitin Sathyaa, and Vijayalakshmi. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. DooPaaDoo, an online platform set up by lyricist Madhan Karky to curb piracy and promote non-film music, is the audio partner of this sequel.
