Tollywood actor Allu Arjun, who did films like S/O Satyamurthy (2015) and Sarrainodu, is all set to team up with filmmaker-producer Lingusamy (who directed Paiyaa (2010), Sandakozhi (2005) and Vettai (2012)) for an untitled Tamil-Telugu bilingual. The project marks the debut of Arjun in Tamil cinema and will roll from February next year. This film will be produced by Studio Green, which also celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

ALLU.jpgTouted to be an action-romance, it’s said that Keerthy Suresh will play the female lead. “Many heroines were considered, but it looks like the Thodari actor has been finalised as the leading lady,” a reliable source told CE.

We hear Arjun will start working on this project as soon as he wraps up Harish Shankar’s Telugu directorial, DJ-Duvvada Jagannadham. Producer Gnanavelraja said, “Discussions about the film have been going on for nearly two years. We’re glad that things have finally fallen into place. I was impressed by Lingusamy’s narration and felt that that the subject of this film was as strong as Paruthiveeran (2007), which had Karthi in the lead.”

As far as Arjun is concerned, he grew up in Chennai. “This city has become an integral part of my life. I was interested doing Tamil films and want ed to enter the industry with the right film,” he said. He has also requested audiences not to compare his debut with Paruthiveeran. He added, “It was a sort of magic, which had already happened and I won’t be able to match that.” Sources said, “Allu Arjun enjoys a good fan base here. In fact, his Telugu movies have been dubbed in the past. Both Lingusamy and Arjun are excited about coming together for an interesting project. Moreover, Arjun chose this film as it would entertain the Tamil and Telugu audiences.”
