After a power packed performance in Kodi (2016), Trisha has an impressive line-up of films in her kitty including Mohini, Sathuranga Vettai-2, Hey Jude (where she’s paired up with Nivin Pauly) and Vijay Sethupathi’s 96 this year. The latest update is that, she has signed her next, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, titled 1818. An edge-of-the-seat thriller that doesn’t feature a hero, we hear the story takes place between 6 pm and 6 am (the next day) inside a five-star hotel.

Sources said, “The story is based on incidents from the Mumbai terror attacks. There are five important characters and the plot revolves around them. Trisha takes the movie forwards, and carries most of it on her shoulders.” Directed by Ridhun Sagar, 1818 will feature Suman, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam besides Meera Ghoshal in pivotal roles.
“Trisha is in Thailand. She will leave to Karikudi soon to shoot for Garjanai. Once she finishes her existing commitments, she’ll start working on this one,” added the source. While Madhan Karky will work on the lyrics, Thaman has been roped into compose music and Om Prakash will crank the camera.
