Avantika Mishra, known for her work in Telugu psychological thriller Maaya (2014), is all set to enter Tamil filmdom with Ashok Selvan starrer yet-untitled project.

An excited Avantika, who recently signed on the dotted line, told City Express, “An interesting rom-com. It’s New Year and I’m starting work in a new industry. I couldn’t have asked for anything more exciting than this. I’m really looking forward to start working.”

To be helmed by Balaji, a former associate of filmmaker N Linguswamy, the project will be co-produced by actor Kalaiarasan. Nivas K Prasanna will take care of music and the rest of the crew will be finalised soon.

Although it’s been three years since her debut, Avantika has been very choosy about the projects she signs. While she awaits the release of Telugu film Vaishakam, she said, “I was in third year college when I did Maaya. Cinema happened out of the blue for me but I realised falling in love with it takes time.

I enjoyed being part of cinema, I wanted to be sure of what I was doing. I like the slow and steady approach which I’m following now.”
