Trisha deactivates Twitter account over Jallikattu issue

Kamal Haasan, Arvind Swami, Simbu, Radikaa Sarath Kumar, were among the many, who extended their support to Trisha.

Trisha faced a lot of flak from Jallikattu supporters on social media on Saturday as she’s been associated with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which had obtained a Supreme Court ban on Jallikattu a couple of years ago.

Despite saying she never spoke against the popular bull-taming sport, around 8 pm, there was a Tweet that read: ‘I am a Tamilian and I support PETA; cruelty to animals no matter how old the traditions are — no justification.”

Trisha later clarified that she didn’t post it. After the actor’s account was allegedly hacked by an anonymous person, she announced that she’d deactivate it until she decides “further course of action.” Also, she had to leave the shooting location of her upcoming film Garjanai, after a few protested against her for endorsing PETA.
