This one came as a surprise to many! While actors have been supporting Jallikattu through silent protests and helping volunteers on the Marina,  22-year-old Karthick Naren, who made an impressive debut with Rahman-starrer Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, announced that he’d contribute a day’s collection of his film towards the ongoing protests.

His post on Facebook read: “Chennai city collection of #D16 will be contributed to my brothers & sisters who are still fighting for our identity. We have already recovered the investment of the film & there is no point in reaping prof-it everyday amidst this protest.”

Further, he appealed to his followers to let him know if they required anything specifically. “Please do let us know if you need anything in particular & we will make sure that it is provided on time. This is nothing compared to the contribution of the youngsters. We just want to be a small part of it,” he added.
