Apart from starring and producing films, Udhayanidhi Stalin also distributes films under his Red Giant Movies banner.

While his company has distributed films such as Ko, Boss Engira Bhaskaran and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa which starred prominent actors, it has also occasionally picked up the smaller films like Mynaa and Neram which ended up as super-hit films.

The actor has now acquired the rights for Oru Kuppai Kathai that’s directed by debutant Kaali Rangasamy. The film has dance choreographer Dinesh debuting as the hero, with Manisha Yadav as the female lead.

Dinesh, who had won the National Award for his choreography in Aadukalam, had reportedly received many acting offers but chose this story, as it’s about the problems faced by the downtrodden.

The film will have Manisha in a non-glam role. It is to be noted that the actress’ Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer was also distributed by Udhay’s banner.
